“Up For Repairs” was done as a competition piece for Plein Air Easton 11 (2015)

T he vessel is the J. Roberts Bateman , a converted-schooner oystering boat built in 1928 in Greenwich, New Jersey. Once owned by the Bivalve Packing Company in Bivalve, New Jersey. Today, her home port is St. Michaels, MD and she is as an oyster buy boat and an oyster seed boat . The painting was done in Cambridge, MD which happens to be the only place in the area where there are facilities that are able to accommodate a vessel of this size.
