Painting is a way of interpreting the beauty of nature that surrounds us.  How to capture the essence of that beauty in a plein air painting is what this workshop is about.  Neal will discuss all facets of his technique and philosophy with demonstrations to show exactly how he works while he explains what he is thinking as the paint is applied.  The balance between a high level of realism and the poetry of artistic expression will be emphasized and topics such as composition, color, edges and surface quality will also be addressed.  Students will also have the opportunity to paint while receiving individual suggestions and instruction.
